Our story
It started in a kitchen, not a lab.
My grandmother got the formula from a retired surgeon. For thirty years it lived in a jar in our kitchen — the thing you reached for when nothing from the pharmacy was touching it.
We were not trying to start a skincare brand. We were trying to help one friend whose flare-ups nothing else helped. Then her friends asked. Then theirs did. That is genuinely the whole origin story.
Why we kept it simple
Every time we were tempted to add something to the formula, we asked whether it was for the skin or for the label. It was almost always for the label.
So the original is still four ingredients. We made an essential-oil-free version for people whose skin reacts to everything, a thyme and tea tree version for the bumps that will not quit, and a comfrey and arnica salve for the body. That is the whole range, and we are in no hurry to make it longer.

Four ingredients. That is it.
No steroids, no parabens, no petrolatum, no fillers, no dyes. Made in Canada in small batches.
Egg yolk extract
The heart of the family formula. Lipid-rich, and carrying vitamins A, D, B and E.
Propolis
Bee-made resin with over 300 flavonoids, long used to soothe irritated skin.
Raw beeswax
Contains vitamin A, and seals the salve in so it keeps working where you put it.
Lavender essential oil
Rich in linalool and linalyl acetate. Left out entirely of the Essential Oil Free jar.
